This is an important event that will be happening next Tuesday. This is where the city basically takes input from independent citizens about reducing our carbon footprint, as well as discussing methods we and reduce our carbon footprint via our own individual efforts. It’s not to be missed!

Thursday, August 20, 6 – 8 p.m.

The Wasatch Back Environmental Alliance is organizing this event to bring people and businesses together to support the local economy and promote sustainable growth.

Molly Blooms, a local environmentally friendly business, will provide cheap draft beers and free appetizers!

To make this event fun and productive, we are going to be showing environmental short films to inspire healthy conversation.

Also, please welcome Kimball Junction’s newest addition next door to Molly Blooms–The Market Hall, a nonprofit that aims to support community and sustainability with their solar-powered building and cheap retail space for local businesses!

TIME: 6:00-8:00 p.m.

THEME: Sustainable Communities

AGENDA: At 6:30 we will start showing short films about sustainable communities. Contact us if there is a film clip you would like to show about Sustainable Communities.

WHERE: Molly Blooms is located at: 1680 Ute Blvd. near Park City Coffee Roasters and the Post Office at Kimball Junction. Carpool with a friend or take the free bus. It’s just a short walk to Molly Blooms.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: We are very excited about an event happening in Park City, Utah on Wednesday September 30th. The event hasn’t been made announced yet, but we thought we would let everyone know that it will be awesome. It’s called Save Our Snow and is a presentation and meeting of the minds on climate change… There will be an exposition (at which we are planning to have a booth ) and there will also be presentations, multimedia, and a notable roster of informed and interesting speakers. The last Save Our Snow event drew over 1,000 community members and this follow-up event should not be missed.

Learn what’s happening with environmental initiatives and community footprint in Salt Lake City.

Vicky Bennett and Renee Zollinger, environmental officers for Salt Lake City, will elaborate on programs on which they are working.

Afterwards, let’s discuss how non-governmental organizations can collaborate between our two communities on such issues as open space, climate change initiatives, and water issues.
